Microsoft working with industry to enhance new OS

Windows 7 will feature improved support for solid-state drives, says Microsoft.

Microsoft is devoting a number of discussions at its Windows Hardware Engineering Conference, which takes place in the US this week, to solid state technology. One session called 'Windows 7 enhancements for solid-state drives' will uncover how 'Microsoft is working with the industry as overall experience with SSD technologies grows'.

Another is entitled 'How Windows and SSDs can provide the best user experience', while Seagate is hosting a session called 'Is your disk drive going away?'.
