UPDATE: Evesham has now officially entered receivership - get the full story here
British PC manufacturer Evesham Technology is on the verge of being bought out. Reports suggest that TimeUK.com is the prospective purchaser.
Four Evesham directors have recently resigned, leaving only owner and chairman Richard Austin. Austin recently confirmed that the UK computer vendor was in talks with several interested parties.
Documents were filed with Companies House on 26 June for the four Evesham directors’ resignations. Under the Companies Act, a single person is not allowed to act as sole director and company secretary, so Austin must intend to sell Evesham, and TimeUK are strongly rumoured to be front-runners to buy.
TimeUK was set up in 2005 following the liquidation of the Granville Technology Group - formally the parent company of PC vendors Time and Tiny. TimeUK.com, owned by Digital World Group, is owned by former Time and Tiny owners Tahir Mohsan and Tariq Mohammed.
Neither Eversham or TimeUK were available for comment.
