Video: CES 2012: HzO waterproofs phones' electronics

Don’t try this with just any phone. The electronics inside this one have been coated with a special material from HzO that makes it completely waterproof. The company hopes to one day make that kind of protection standard on all handheld electronics. This is much different than a waterproof case because HzO has protected the electrical components inside the device. The company said they’re in talks with a number of device makers to offer this option at little to no cost to the consumer

Rick Peterson, Marketing, HzO, said they looked for at after market option, but it turned out to be to expensive. If device makers use the technology, the sytem would integegrate into their existing manufacturing process.
