Plusnet has won the 'Best Broadband Provider 2013' award in Broadband Genie's latest poll.
The Yorkshire-based broadband firm has come out on top in the UK-wide survey thanks to top scores in reliability, service, tech support, speed and low cost offerings. Jamie Ford, CEO of Plusnet, said: "We're delighted to get the highest scores across all these categories because it is testament to the work we have done –all this and we’re still offering these services at some of the most competitive prices on the market."
The survey, conducted by OnePoll, asked consumers to rate ISPs for technical support, customer service, reliability and performance. The results also took into account tens of thousands of speed tests and the opinions of a panel of industry experts.
Virgin Media won the award for 'Fastest Broadband Provider 2013' while Sky took the 'Best Bundled Broadband 2013' and Hyperoptic was crowned 'Most Innovative Provider 2013' for its gigabit network. Runners up for these categories were BT, Virgin Media and Gigaclear respectively.
PLusnet also managed to scoop a second award in the form of 'Best Budget Broadband 2013' with TalkTalk the runner up. Plusnet is currently offering broadband for as little as £2.99 per month.
Broadband Genie said: "we're proud of our commitment to editorial independence and position as a consumer champion, something which is reflected in the 2013 Home Broadband Survey where to avoid any accusations of bias our results come from a variety of sources."
