Spotify has posted an update of its client for Apple's iPhone, adding the ability for users to share tracks and playlists via text message. However, that feature is only compatible with iOS version 4, according to a Spotify blog post.
The company has also added a new high-resolution icon for iPhone 4, and fixed "a crash some users experienced with the what's new tab". Spotify also fixed "an issue with the inbox not updating with new tracks in certain cases", which allows users to share music, the blog post said.
The update is now available from the Apple iTunes App Store. The Spotify iPhone application is free, but accessing the service using a mobile phone costs £9.99.
Besides the iPhone, Spotify is also available for smartphones based on the Android and Symbian mobile operating systems. The service is available in the UK, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden.
