Web users with a Spotify Premium account, which costs £10 per month, can download a Spotify app to handsets running Windows Phone 6 and Windows Phone 7. Using the app, mobile phone owners can search and play tracks from Spotify's catalogue, using the handset's Wi-Fi or 3G connection.
Users will also have access to playlists created on the web-based version of the service, as well as being able to create new playlists and add more songs to existing lists from their mobile phone.
"We believe in a world where music fans can listen to whatever they want, whenever and wherever they want it. A world where people can listen to and share music instantly, simply and in fantastic quality," says Daniel Ek, CEO and founder Spotify
The Spotify app can be downloaded now by visiting the music-streaming service's dedicated mobile site from a compatible mobile phone.
