Rival sues Apple and Nike over iPod sport Kit

PhatRat demands compensation

iPod-manufacturer Apple Computer and sports shoe maker Nike are being taken to court by PhatRat Technology over claimed patent abuse.

In the Denver court case, PhatRat Technology claims the Nike+Apple sports kit uses patented biometric technologies in their innovative data collecting shoes for iPods. The company makes its own range of wireless performance monitoring devices.

The plaintiff is asking the courts to block sales of the Apple/Nike kits and demanding cash compensation.

"PhatRat has been damaged by the infringing acts of Apple and Nike, and will continue to be damaged unless they are stopped by the court", PhatRat said.
