iPod recovery software launched

Restore files after you've reset your player

GetData Software has announced the release of Recover My iPod, a new Windows software utility that enables you to recover music and video content from your iPod. The software costs $39.95.

Recover My iPod can restore files after you've used iTunes' Reset or Restore features, according to the developer. It was designed to recover files from the iPod before they're actually deleted from the iPod's directories.

It works with .M4A, .MP3, .MOV, QuickTime and Jpeg files, and supports all iPods from full-size models to the shuffle, mini and nano. It's reportedly risk-free, recovering content without changing what's on there.

Recover My iPod is available as a downloadable application, and is available for trial use at no charge.

System requirements call for Windows 9X, Me, 200X or XP, 64MB RAM and 6MB hard disk space.
