Spotify follow and discovery tabs

Spotify has announced it will add new Follow and Discovery features to its music streaming service.

Always keen to provide new ways of listening and finding music, Spotify has announced new features for its millions of users. The Follow and Discovery tabs will "change the way you discover music forever." See Best Android Apps.

Spotify said: " Our latest, greatest upgrade will see a whole host of new discovery features introduced across desktop, mobile and our new web player over the coming weeks."

In Twitter-esque style users will be able to follow other users and artists to see what they are listening to in real-time and check out their playlists.

The Discovery tab will recommend music based on your listening habits. It will also notify you of new releases from artists you follow and any music or playlists shared by users you follow.

Spotify said on Twitter: "With our new Collection feature you can save music for later, discover what’s new, or listen back to music you loved from before."

A new Audio Preview feature allows users to try out new music without navigating away from what's playing. Spotify said the new features will be rolled out over the coming weeks to desktop apps with a full cross-platform arriving in next year.

Spotify has also announced that it has added Metallica's discography spanning back to 'Kill 'Em All' from 1983 to its library.
