As well as offering its customers the chance to add access to Spotify unlimited, which offers ad-free unlimited music streaming or Spotify Premium that builds on the Unlimited package with the ability to listen to music on a mobile phone, when a net-connection isn't available, the ISP will also give subscribers to TiVo, its TV-on-demand service, the ability to stream tracks from Spotify's 13 million strong catalogue through their TVs.
Furthermore, Virgin said its customers taking up the Spotify bundles would benefit from exclusive features and content, as well as be eligible for special promotions.
"Spotify will help our customers to fill their world with music, whether it's at home or on the go, and provide a unique way to get even more out of Virgin Media's leading digital services," said Jon James, executive director of broadband at Virgin Media.
According to Andreas Liffgarden, director of business development at Spotify, the partnership between the pair will give "millions more people across the UK the chance to enjoy all the world's music at their fingertips, however they choose to listen to it - be that on their computer, mobile, and for the first time through their TV".
Pricing for the services, which are due to launch in the coming months and will open to both new and existing customers, have not yet been revealed. Virgin also said existing Spotify users would be able to retain their usernames but still take advantage of the Virgin bundles.
