Lady Gaga headphones launched at IFA

Pop star teams with Monster Cable

Pop star Lady Gaga brought some glamour to the IFA electronics fair in Berlin today when she launched a new series of headphones developed with Monster Cable.

Lady Gaga, whose fashion and catchy lyrics have gained her a string of hits around the world, said the 'Heartbeats by Lady Gaga' earbud headphones were designed to look like a pair of earrings while producing good quality audio.

"They are designed to be the first ever fashion accessories that double as the absolute best sonically sounding headphones in the world," said Lady Gaga.

"These headphones look a lot like the jackets my friends and I wear in New York. They are all studded and metal."

The earbuds will be available in three colors: white, black and red. "Red's the new pink," she said. The launch of the new earbuds follows the 'Beats by Dr. Dre' headphones that Monster previously launched.

As the name suggests, they were designed by music producer and artist Dr. Dre. The headphones will launch in Europe later this year and will cost just under €100 (US$143). Launch dates and prices for other markets were not immediately available.
