Amazon's iTunes-killer to hit UK

UK launch to kickstart global rollout

Amazon is expected to go head-to-head with iTunes by launching its digital music store in the UK.

Although no official launch date has been confirmed, The Telegraph reports that Amazon executives were in London last week to discuss details of the UK launch of the Amazon MP3 store with British record companies.

The online music store, which was first launched in the US last year, offers around five million DRM-free MP3s from the four major music labels Universal, Sony BMG, EMI and Warner.
