iTunes 9 to get Blu-ray support?

Facebook integration also expected

The next version of Apple's iTunes could be getting support for Blu-ray, if rumours on the web are to be believed.

According to website the Boy Genius Report, Blu-ray support in iTunes is likely to be joined by the ability to organise apps for the iPhone as well as some integration with Facebook, Last.fm and Twitter. The website speculated that this may come in the form of being able to update your social network with the songs you are currently listening to in iTunes.

The rumours come just days after Apple Insider speculated that Apple planned to add Blu-ray drives to its new ranger of iMacs.

Although Apple hasn't reveled when it intends to launch the next version of the digital music library, many are speculating that it will be in September this year. Previously, this is the point in the year when the company has revealed changes to its iPod range and new versions of iTunes.
