iTunes 8.0 to offer high-def videos

Digg founder claims inside knowledge of Apple event

The next version of Apple's iTunes looks set to offer high definition video downloads, according to Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg.

In his blog, Rose said he expected iTunes 8.0 to allow users to "download your favourite TV shows in HD quality". His prediction comes after receiving leaked information about the next version of the software.

Rose also said a playlist prediction service, called Genius, which will suggest music users might like based upon previous iTunes purchases, would be included in the new version of the software.

iTunes 8.0 is rumoured to be launching at an Apple event taking place next week.
