Apple sells 3 billion songs on iTunes

That's 3,000 million tracks

Apple claims that more than three billion songs have been downloaded from its online iTunes Store.

iTunes, which recently surpassed Amazon and Target to become the third largest music retailer in the US, features a catalogue of over five million songs, 550 television shows and 500 movies. iTunes.

“We’d like to thank all of our customers who have contributed to this incredible milestone,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes.

The 4,000,000,000th song is unlikely to be a track by Enimen, who is demanding that Apple remove his shouty songs from its iTunes store.
