Customers can buy unlocked Apple iPhone 3G handsets at the Apple Store website in Hong Kong. On the site, Apple says the phones "can be activated with any wireless carrier".

Apple this week patched almost 30 Java vulnerabilities in its Mac OS X operatimg system. The Apple fixes came up to six months after Sun Microsystems, Java's developer, fixed most of the same flaws for other operating systems.

4GB versions of Apple's new iPod nano (4th generation, or 4G) have reportedly gone on sale in several European countries, despite Apple announcing only 8GB and 16GB models on September 9 at its "Let's Rock" event featuring CEO Steve Jobs.
