Apple announces Black Friday shopping event

One day of Apple discounts this Friday

Apple promises deals on its products in celebration of Black Friday this year.

The gadget maker's 'one-day shopping event' is scheduled for Friday 23 November. Customers can expect Apple to offer discounts on its products including iPads, iPods, MacBooks and accessories. See also: Best Christmas gifts: 2012 Christmas gift guide.

Apple said: "The one-day Apple shopping event is Friday 23 November. Get ready to give. [presumably you're money]"

Consumers can shop online, at their favourite Apple retail store or straight from an iPhone. Apple hasn't confirmed what will be on offer on Friday but the image uses an iPad mini. Which iPad should I buy?

Amazon's week long Black Friday shopping started yesterday and will include its Kindle Fire tablet. We'll be bringing you the latest on Apple's deals on Friday.
