Apple will replace its traditional 30-pin connector with a smaller 19-pin docking port on the iPhone 5.

The mini port has been independently confirmed by TechCrunch which claims three independent manufacturers agree in the 19-pin connector. Although Apple has used the 30-pin connector since the third generation of iPod, it supposedly wants to save space. The connector looks similar to a Thunderbolt port found on the new MacBook Pro with Retina display and will be roughly the same size.
