Apple’s new iPad is due to be launched this Friday but those opting to avoid the queues will face a longer wait for their shiny new gadget.
Join the back of the queue for the new iPad
The third generation iPad was announced last week and has been available to pre-order since starting at £399. However, the Apple Store states a wait of two to three weeks before the device is dispatched. This applies to all six different models of the new iPad.
The main feature of new iPad sports a retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Apple billed it as the best ever screen on a mobile device.
It also has enhanced cameras, a better processor and 4G LTE connectivity. However, the iPad is a little heavier and thicker than the iPad 2.
If waiting a few weeks or braving the crowds for the new iPad sounds like too much then the iPad 2 is a better option. Apple has decided to keep it on sale and reduced the price from £399 to £329 for the 16GB model with WiFi only.
