Strong iPod and iPhone sales helped Apple grow its net income by nearly $200m in its fiscal third quarter compared to the same period last year.
The company said it sold 717,000 iPhones during the three-month period, compared to 270,000 for Q3 2007.
"We think we have a real winner with our new iPhone 3G, and we're busy finishing several more wonderful new products to launch in the coming months," said Apple CEO Steve Jobs.
iPod sales reached 11 million, 7 percent up on last year, while Mac sales were 41 percent up with 2.5 million systems shipping during the quarter.
Net quarterly income for Apple was $1.07bn, compared to $818m for Q3 2007.
