Research claims MacBook Pro emits toxic gas

Benzene may lead to increased risk of cancer

A researcher has claimed that MacBook Pros emit dangerous gasses when switched on.

According to French Newspaper Liberation, an unnamed employee at the CNRS Research Center studied the laptop and discovered it was admitting, which is harmful to humans. Although the amount of benzene did not offer an immediate health risk, it is thought that prolonged exposure may lead to increased cancer risk. The researcher also claimed that vapour produced by the substance caused eye and throat irritation.

Apple said that it was investigating the claim.
