The re-designed MacBooks and MacBook Pros are likely to have aluminium-based cases, similar to those sported by the MacBook Air, according to AppleInsider.
The website also suggests that Apple intends to replace the Firewire 400 port and the MacBook Pro's DVI-I ports with a Firewire 800 port and a mini-DVI port.
It was originally thought the new-look MacBook's would be unveiled earlier this month, but instead Apple announced a new version of the iPod Nano.
