Panasonic 4K tablet

Panasonic's 20in 4K tablet will launch soon in Europe. Here's what you need to know. Get all the latest from IFA 2013.

At a live event at IFA in Berlin today, Panasonic confirmed the launch of its 20in tablet with a staggering 4K display. The 4K tablet will launch in Europe soon, according to Panasonic - although as yet we haven't seen a UK price for the Panasonic 4K tablet. It's the world's thinnest 20in tablet, Panasonic says.

It's not the first we've seen of the Panasonic tablet. A prototype  was shown off at CES in Las Vegas in January this year. But today for the first time Panasonic confirmed that it will launch as a full-fledged consumer product. Panasonic will be showing off its 20in 4K tablet at the IFA tradeshow which runs through to next week. We'll be bringing you a first hands-on review from the show as soon as possible.

The Panasonic 4K tablet was announced alongside other products that form part of what Panasonic is calling its '4K Universe'. This includes  4K TVs, devices and access to a wide variety of 4K-ready content. Thoroughout its time at IFA, Panasonic says it wil be 'demonstrating how its technological innovations ensure both consumers and businesses have access to incredibly detailed 4K content across a range of devices'. Which is nice.

When we looked at the Panasonic 4K tablet at CES we said: "A screen this big means photographs from most digital cameras can be viewed at 100 percent, or close to it. We looked at a variety of photos and were amazed at the level of detail. Panasonic says it’s aiming the as yet unnamed tablet at photographers who need to quickly check their shots for focus, and who might even use it as a live preview screen."
