Samsung Ativ One 5 Style

Samsung announced a new range of Galaxy and Ativ products, including new tablets, thin-and-light laptops, and a smart camera. We had reporters liveblogging from the event, and below you can relive the Samsung Premiere 2013 Galaxy & Ativ launch event as it happened.

Samsung Premiere 2013 Galaxy & Ativ event - details

First here are brief details of what was announced.

The Samsung Ativ Q is a tablet-laptop hybrid with a 13-inch display with a resolution of 3200 by 1800 pixels (see also: Samsung Ativ Q hands-on review). The Ativ Tab 3 (review here) is a more traditional tablet. Samsung says it's the world's thinnest Windows 8 tablet, and it's also pretty light.

The Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is the successor to Samsung's Series 9 laptops. It includes a 13-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 3200 by 1800 pixels. The Ativ Book 9 is housed in an aluminum chassis.

The Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite is a more affordable alternative to the Book 9 Plus. The Ativ Book 9 Lite's display has a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels and a quad-core processor that Samsung did not name. See also: Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus and Book 9 review.

Samsung also announced an all-in-one desktop PC, dubbed the Ativ One 5 Style. Behind the 21.5-inch, 1080p touchscreen display, there's an AMD A6 processor, 4GB of RAM, up to a 1TB hard drive, and a 720p webcam. The desktop also has four USB ports (two USB 3.0), HDMI input and output, and a 3-in-1 card reader. See also: Samsung Ativ One 5 Style review.

Samsung also launched some Galaxy products, including the Samsung Galaxy NX camera . This 20.3-megapixel shooter sports 3G and 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Samsung already has a Galaxy point-and-shoot camera with an Android OS, long-zoom, and cellular wireless capability, so the Galaxy NX is a step up for photographers who seek more range, capability, and better image quality.

Samsung also showcased its Samsung Galaxy 4 Zoom smartpone camera. See our Galaxy S4 Zoom review.

Samsung Galaxy & Ativ event: what we said before the event...

Find out how wrong we got things:

This is a bit of a tricky one as Samsung is being pretty coy over details right now. However, the fact that the Korean tech Giant has hired out the equally gigantic venue that is Earls Court, and invited pretty much every tech journalist in town to tonight's event suggests that it's going to be a biggie. Read our piece: what's the best Samsung Galaxy smartphone?

What we know so far is that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S4 Mini and the Galaxy S4 Zoom tonight for sure. However there are vicious rumours circling that Samsung has got several more products lined up to launch tonight as well.

You don't have to be a genius to work out that some sort of 'Ativ' products are going to launch tonight…mainly because the invite we received to the event says Samsung Premiere 2013 GALAXY & ATIV. The question is what Ativ products are going to launch. Well, we've done some digging – and by digging I mean searching the web for the latest rumours – and the general consensus is that Samsung will launch a few new Ativ laptops/Ultrabooks and an Ativ Windows tablet too. The real optimists out there are suggesting that some sort of Ativ Windows Phone 8 smartphone will be launched tonight too.

One thing you can be sure of, is that whatever Samsung does launch tonight. We will be covering it live and will be the first to bring you images and info on all the the new Samsung Galaxy and Samsung Ativ products.
