Huawei outs MediaPad 7 Lite

A 7in Android tablet to rival the Google Nexus 7

Huawei has unveiled its MediaPad 7 Lite Android powered tablet.

The 7in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet will rival the Google Nexus 7 by Asus. Unfortunately we don’t have any details of when the MediaPad 7 Lite will launch or how much it will cost. It will be the successor to the MediaPad, aka the Orange Tahiti.

What we do know it that is features a 7in in-plane switching (IPS) display and an aluminium unibody shell. It has 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and unlike the Nexus 7 3G connectivity. See also: Group test: What's the best tablet PC?

From images on Huawei's website the MediaPad 7 Lite has front and rear facing camera. Huawei claims it supports 1080p video playback and beyond this we don't have any other specifications.

The news comes after Huawei showed off its MediaPad 10 FHD tablet in a promotional video.

We'll be sure to give you more details about the MediaPad 7 Lite when we get them from Huawei.
