Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), the successor to its original 7in tablet PC, the Galaxy Tab.

The device will be powered by Google Android 4.0, which is also known as Ice Cream Sandwich and will be powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. Users will also benefit from both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity on the device which features 1GB of RAM and a 1024x600 resolution touchscreen display.

As well as featuring Samsung's existing range of hubs that offer access to music, books and games, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 features a new Video Hub that has over 1,00 films to rent or buy.

Available in 8GB, 16GB or 32GB capacities, a microSD slow ensure the storage space cab be boosted by an extra 32GB.

"We have actively worked to enhance and extend our tablet offering since the launch of the original Galaxy Tab 18 months ago, to put us in the position we are in today of being able to offer our customers a portfolio of devices of varying sizes relative to their different needs. We are delighted to be offering our customers even more choice with our latest tablet which is our first to feature Android 4.0," said Simon Stanford, UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) will hit UK shelves in March. Pricing for the tablet PC has yet to be released.
