Adobe today launched Photoshop Touch for recent iPhone, iPod touch and Android phones. Photoshop Touch costs £2.99 and is available from iTunes and Google Play. Here are the full details of the Photoshop Touch launch.
The new version of Photoshop brings the core of Photoshop's desktop image-editing capabilities to the latest Apple and Android smartphones, including the iPhone 5, Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Sony Xperia Z. Photoshop Touch is not yet available for BlackBerry 10 or Windows Phone 8.
Photoshop Touch for iPhone and Android: price and availability
The new version of Photoshop is similar to but discrete from the existing tablet version of Photoshop Touch - a touch-based feature rich version of photoshop for portable devices. The new software is available for iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and iPod touch 5th generation; and Android running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or later. You can get it from the iTunes App Store, and Google Play. It costs £2.99.
With Photoshop Touch you can use such tools as layers, selection tools and filters to edit photos. You can make tonal and colour adjustments to images, and apply effects. Adobe says Photoshop Touch lets you edit images of up to 12Mp, using layers.
Photoshop Touch for iPhone and Android: cloud storage
One potentially key feature of Photoshop Touch for graphics professionals and hobbyist photographers is the abilibity to automatically sync images to Adobe Creative Cloud. Photoshop Touch includes 2GB of storage, with the possibility to pay to expand this. You can sync photos and projects to Creative Cloud, and then continue working with the files from a desktop Photoshop install, or even a tablet with Photoshop Touch.
