Nero 11 multimedia software suite launched

Software benefits from improved interface and ability to produce photo gifts

Nero has unveiled the latest verison of its multimedia software suite, Nero 11.

The software features Nero Kwik Media for managing photos, music and videos, as well as creating slideshows and photo products, along with Nero Video 11 to create video projects, Nero SoundTrax and Nero WaveEditor for editing audio files and Nero Recode 11 for converting and optimising video files for playback on tablets, smartphones and other devices. The suite also comes with Nero BackItUp 11 and Nero RescueAgent 11 for file and system back up and data recovery and Nero Burning ROM 11, Nero Express and Nero CoverDesigner for creating CD, DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Nero 11 benefits from improvements to the way media is organised. Users now have the ability to group media by album or playlist or by project while the Nero MediaBrowser offers a integrated sidebar that allows drag and drop access to all of the content organised by the Nero Kwik Media library from all the suite's different applications.

Users will also benefit from theme packs that offer bundles of transitions, music and templates to ensure photo and video slideshows can be created quickly and easily, as well as support for new file formats and more effects and transitions. Meanwhile Nero Live Back-up offers one click instant backup, the first being a full back-up and from then on its incremental.

Furthermore, Nero gives users the ability to create photobooks and other photo gifts directly from the software while enhanced GPGPU accelerated hardware encoding means all users benefit from faster video encoding and playback.

Nero has also enhanced the usability of the software suit, ensuring each application has a consistent look and feel

The software is also available in a Platinum version that features a Blu-ray decoder, 5GB of online storage and the ability to wirelessly sync photos, videos and iTunes songs between PCs and devices running Google Android.

“There are more ways than ever to acquire and share photos, videos and music, which raises a host of new challenges for consumers . Rather than cobble together incompatible tools to do each of those tasks separately, Nero 11 provides a unified suite of applications that does them all easily," said Martin Stein, senior vice president of global products at Nero.

Nero 11, which is priced at £59.99 and Nero 11 Platinum, which costs £79.99, will be available online and in high-street stores from October 2011.
