Pinnacle Studio 12 video-editing software

Pinnacle has released a new version of its video editing software Pinnacle Studio. UPDATE: Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12.0 review.

Pinnacle Studio Version 12 has 25 new features including Pinnacle Montage, a tool that allows consumers to layer video and animate text and graphics. The program comes with 11 pre-defined themes and more than 80 separate templates.

Users will also benefit from new additions including ProDAD Vitascene, a complete library of highly customisable transitions and lighting effects, Red Giant Software Magic Bullet Looks which allows tone, color and focus to be adjusted and 2D/3D vector title animation plug-in Boris Graffiti.

Marker tools for timelines, compatibility with PSD and GIF images, and more titles, DVD menus and templates are among the new features that can be found in Pinnacle Studio Version 12.

There are three different versions of Pinnacle Studio Version 12 available. Pinnacle Studio is the entry level product, while Pinnacle Studio Plus and Pinnacle Studio Ultimate are also available.

Both versions feature Blu-ray disc burning capabilities in BD-MV with motion menus, as well as support for various HD camcorder types including full HD products such as the JVC GZ-HD3 , Canon Vixia and Sanyo Xacti.

Prices start from £39.99 for Pinnacle Studio and rise to £69.99 and £89.99 for Pinnacle Studio Plus and Pinnacle Studio Ultimate respectively.

All three versions of the software will be available from 1 July from www.amazon.co.uk, Dabs.com and Play.com.

Upgrades will also be available from the Pinnacle website.
