Invu demonstrates Ergo search tool

After giving PC Advisor the exclusive on its new Ergo search tool last month, Invu is now telling the rest of the world about the technology. The company demonstrated the software to journalists, bloggers and analysts at the CES Unveiled event here in Las Vegas last night, and appeared to get a good reception.

Ergo is a desktop and web search tool that groups results based on relevance and displays them in an innovative and visually attractive way using Microsoft's Windows Presentation Foundation technology in Vista.

Invu intends to sell it as a standalone product (there are likely to be two versions - one for consumers and one for businesses) and also strike deals with major PC manufacturers so they'll pre-install the software on new systems. There's no official word on who the first major partner will be, although an Invu spokesperson said last night the company could have something to announce in the next few weeks.
