Check Point launches ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus and Firewall 2013

Simplifying security with a combined software package

Check Point has released its ZoneAlarm Antivirus and Firewall 2013 security software.

The internet security product combines a firewall and antivirus in one free software package. The firm touts it as ' the most complete free Internet security solution for consumers', eliminating compatibility issues and simplifying the ordeal. Bari Abdul, vice president and head of ZoneAlarm said: "With ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall, we hope to spur a widespread security movement that will help consumers better protect themselves from dangerous predators lurking online. This will in turn help provide a more secure experience for all PC users."

ZoneAlarm Antivirus and Firewall features an antivirus and spyware scan engine, two-way firewall, OS firewall, advanced download protection and identity theft protection. It also offers online backup and is compatible with Windows back to XP.

According to tests carried out by AVTest Lab, the software out performed its rivals including paid for versions of McAfee and Norton. It performed particularly well in comparison with Rootkit detection and removal.
