Bullguard Internet Security Gamer's Edition

Bullguard has launched a Gamer's Edition of its Internet Security software.

Developed in conjunction with SteelSeries, a manufacturer of gaming peripherals, the security software includes antivirus, antispyware and firewall features and will automatically switch to an optimised game profile when a supported game is launched.

Game profiles have preconfigured firewall and antivirus settings that ensure play is not interrupted or slowed down by endless firewall messages and update processes that are initiated during the game.

Bullguard says only a minimal amount of resources are taken up by its security program. Security software that hobbles system resources and slows down the PC is commonly disabled by the user, leave the computer vulnerable to attack.

"The game profiles enable gamers to remain protected while allowing them to enjoy their game to the fullest. We currently support 80 of the most popular games, including World of Warcraft and Age of Conan, and this number will increase as new games are released to the market," said Theis Søndergaard, BullGuard's CTO and co-founder.

BullGuard Gamer's Edition also features a spam filter and a backup component that allows users to perform backups to local media or the 1GB online space included in the price.

Available now from www.bullguard.com/gamersedition, Bullguard Gamer's Edition is priced at £39.99 inc VAT.
