Kodak Hero 9.1 MFD printer launched

New range of four printers support Google Cloud Print

Kodak has unveiled a new range of all-in-one printers that support both Google Cloud Print and Kodak Email Print so users can send documents and photos to the printer from anywhere in the world using a device with a net connection.

The Kodak Hero range comprises Hero 5.1, Hero 7.1 and Hero 9.1 for consumers while the Hero 6.1 is aimed at the home office user. All of the printers benefit from a sleek black and grey design with a red accent and allow users to print, scan and copy from the one device. The device offers print resolution of 9,600 optimised for high-resolution colour documents and 1,200x1,200 for black documents. Users will also benefit from automatic two-sided printing, Wi-Fi connectivity and support for PictBridge along with a four-in-one memory card slot so images can be printed directly from a digital camera or memory card.

Google Cloud Print ensures web users can print on the go from their smartphone, laptop or tablet using Google Cloud Print-enabled apps such as Gmail and Google Docs while the Kodak Email Print Service lets users send emails and attachments direct to their printer using a dedicated email address.

Furthermore, Kodak also revealed it will be rolling out a software update for previous versions of Kodak All-in-One printers to give them Google Cloud Print and Kodak Email Print functions as well.

The Kodak Hero 5,1, which measures 422x399x183mm and weighs 6.3kg, has a 2.4in colour display, 1,200 dpi optical scanner and offers print speeds of 8 images per minute (IPM) for black documents and 6ipm for colour documents.

Furthermore, the device also comes with a 100 sheet paper tray and 40 sheet photo paper tray and smart sensor technology that automatically identifies the correct paper type for the job.

The Hero 9.1 builds on the Hero 7.1 features by adding fax capabilities, a 4.3in colour touchscreen LCD display and a 30 page automatic document feeder. It measures 445x432x231mm and weighs 8.5kg.
