Casio will put on sale in March a digital camera capable of shooting up to 60 images per second at full 6-megapixel resolution and video at more a thousand images per second.
The fast shooting mode - on show at CES - is all about making it easier to catch that picture-perfect moment. After the shots are taken the Exilim Pro EX-F1's allows users to browse through the 60 pictures and find, for example, the exact moment at which a baseball player's bat hits the ball or a baby gives a perfect smile. The length of time over which the 60 pictures are shot is set by the user and can be between 1 second and 1 minute.
Just as innovative is the high-speed video mode that works at beween 300 and 1,200 frames per second. When played back at the normal 30fps this achieves a super slow-motion effect so that it's possible to view, for example, the wings of a dragonfly flap as it takes to flight.
