Sanyo has launched a Full HD 1920x1080-pixel digital camera that can also take 10Mp still photos. Sanyo is also touting the Xacti VPC-SH1's 30x zoom.
The Sanyo Xacti VPC-SH1 sports a 35mm wideangle lens with a 1/3.6in CMOS sensor. In photo mode the camera has a nine-point autofocus, image stabiliser and a range of manual settings and scene modes. A sports mode allows for fast shooting.
The camera can recognise as many as 12 subjects in a frame and optimise their facial details. A microphone with zoom is embedded in the Sanyo Xacti's body, while elements such as wind and vibration are compensated for by the onboard sensor.
Light adjustments include auto and manual ISO settings from 50 to 3200 and exposure compensation +/- 1.8.
Video footage can be framed in the camcorder's 2.7in colour LCD display. This can be turned through 285 degrees to follow the action. The Xacti's 1200mAh lithium-ion battery should last for 350 shots or around 110 minutes of filming before needing to be recharged.
Footage is saved to removable SD Card. The Sanyo Xacti VPC-SH1 weighs 234g and measures 43x118x59mm. It costs £349 and is available now.
