Nikon has unveiled the world's first digital camera with projector. The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj is a 12Mp camera and the ability to project an image or video footage and display it at between 5in and 40in.

The compact digital camera has a remote control that can be used to operate both the projector and the camera.

The Coolpix S1000pj has a 2.7in LCD display and a 5x optical zoom. A Scene Auto Selector mode sees the camera automatically select the appropriate scene mode based on prevailing light conditions or type of shot you're trying to take.

Face-tracking and anti-shake technology also help allow users to capture the best shot possible while the Skin Softening function allows users to ‘airbrush' a subject's face on the camera to reduce blemishes.

"People can't help but be blown away by such a beautifully crafted device. It's packed with everything you need to take amazing photos so easily as well as to show your pictures; a great screen and amazing projector. Sharing photos and videos has never been so easy - or so fun," said Nikon Europe's Mark Pekelharing.

Available in black or silver and priced at £399, the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj will be available from September.
