Nikon has announced the CoolPix P6000 – a 13.5mp digital camera with built-in GPS priced at £429.
The GPS (global positioning satellite) function tags details of exactly where each photo was taken. This positioning information is attached to the image. When photos are uploaded to Nikon's my Picturetown or other websites that support geotags, they are associated the location they depict.
Based on the design of the Coolpix P5000 range and featuring a magnesium alloy body, the P600 digital camera has a 2.7in LCD display, 4x optical zoom, RAW file format support and 15 scene modes.
The P6000 features lens-shift vibration reduction, noise-reduction and a best shot selector. This works by taking a maximum of 10 sequential shots and automatically saves the sharpest image.
The Nikon P6000 comes with a rechargeable battery, AC adaptor, USB cable and 2GB of online storage at Nikon's my Picturetown. It is priced at £429.99 and will be available from mid-September.
