One of two new webcams announced today by Microsoft, the Microsoft LifeCam NX-3000, makes ultra compact video calling easier and more stylish. This nifty little camera was designed to be used with most notebooks and features a lens that swivels up and down for versatile viewing.

Microsoft says that starting a video call is simpler with the built-in Windows Live Call button, and features such as video effects make it even more entertaining keeping in contact.

Microsoft’s webcams are optimized for Windows Live instant-messaging service. This means that the Microsoft LifeCam NX-3000 makes it possible to chat online and exchange photos in real time during a video call using Photo Swap.

Microsoft claims the sound quality of the Microsoft LifeCam NX-3000's built-in microphone is of a high standard due to the acoustic noise cancelling feature. It also includes automatic audio control for enhanced sound clarity.
