Ricoh CX4 digital camera
Ricoh has come up with a fourth model in its CX range of larger-than-average compact cameras. The Ricoh CX4 is a 10Mp camera with a wideangle lens and a 10.7x (28 to 300mm) optical zoom. It is able to track subjects in a scene as well as to focus-lock on them. Lens shift image stabilisation helps ensure blur-free photos.

Nikon D3100 digital SLR camera
Nikon has added an entrylevel model to its range of digital SLR (single reflex lens) cameras. The Nikon D3100 is a 14.2Mp camera that can capturing HD video footage at a resolution of 1920x1080 and 24fps.

Nikon has announced two new models in its Coolpix compact digital camera range. The Nikon Coolpix S5100 is a 12.2Mp camera with the ability to take photos even in low light conditions. In this respect it's similar to the Canon IXUS 300 HS we reviewed earlier this summer.
