Nikon D4 full-frame pro camera announced

Nikon D4 flagship digital camera unveiled at CES

Nikon has announced a brand-new flagship digital SLR camera. The Nikon D4 is a full-frame 16.Mp camera with a £4,799 body only price tag. It is the successor to the Nikon D3.

The high-end professional model improves on the speed and accuracy of its predecessors by boosting image quality and low-light capability, adding full HD 1080p video recording to the mix, and offering a multitude of new features.

Key features are a new Expeed 3 image processor, expanded ISO range with auto adjustment based on lens focal length, and a burst mode of 10fps in full frame format with continuous autofocus. The D4 can shoot 200 frames continuously in normal Jpeg mode.

Low light handling has been improved, allowing the camera to create memorable shots in the most challenging conditions. Accordingly, it’s clad in magnesium alloy to keep the elements at bay. The camera has slots for both CompactFlash and the new ultra-fast XQD memory format and can back up between the two. Wireless modules, an extended ISO range to boost light levels above the advertised 12,800, plus 51-point autofocus all feature.
