Olympus VR-320 14Mp compact camera

We're big fans of the Olympus PEN MicroFourThirds camera range, but sometimes crave a capable compact instead. The new Olympus VR-320 could just fit the bill. It weighs 158g and has a 12.5x optical zoom – pretty impressive given the 100x58x28mm frame in which it's packed.

A 14Mp CMOS, 14 scene presets, a 3in LCD, face detection, image stabilisation and art filters including one called 'punk' are all on offer. Manual settings including ISO adjustments from 80 to 1600 are also provided. Video recording at 30fps and 720p (up to 2GB of footage at a time) is also possible.

The £139 VR-320 is set to go onsale by April and will come in a choice of black, silver, red or blue.
