Ricoh CX4 digital camera

Ricoh has come up with a fourth model in its CX range of larger-than-average compact cameras. The Ricoh CX4 is a 10Mp camera with a wideangle lens and a 10.7x (28 to 300mm) optical zoom. It is able to track subjects in a scene as well as to focus-lock on them. Lens shift image stabilisation helps ensure blur-free photos.

Both artistic and standard scene modes are offered. Perhaps the most unusual feature is a dedicated landscape mode for night shots. Here, up to four photos are taken in sequence and then stitched together on the camera to produce a composite image that adds depth of field and nuances of shade with low noise levels.

The Ricoh CX4 has a 3in LCD, can take 5 shots per second in burst mode and can capture 1280x720 video. It sports a slightly rounded design in contrast to the blocky lines of previous CX models.
