Fujifilm FinePix S8000fd

Fujifilm has announced its latest compact sports model, which offers 18x zoom, lightweight yet sturdy body and 8Mp (megapixel) resolution. Also featuring speedy Face Detection technology, image stabilisation and red eye removal, the FinePix S8000fd has a lot to offer the keen photographer.

Fujifilm's Intelligent Flash system is implemented into the camera. Photographs are captured at greater quality and more naturally thanks to the Real Photo Technology that has been developed for models such as the S8000fd. Wide angled shots are easy making use of the long telephoto lens which covers a range equivalent to 27-48mm on a 35mm camera.

Geared towards the family, this camera offers fast shooting speeds of up to 15 frames per second, a high resolution, bright 2.7in screen and large 58MB internal memory. For additional image storage there is also a dual slot which supports xD-Picture Card and SD/SDHC memory cards.

Available from mid September, the pricing of FinePix S8000fd will be announced close to launch date.
