Toshiba has unveiled a 500GB external hard drive that is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Labelled the Frost White, the half-terabyte external drive costs £120. It measures 16.5x81x12.7mm and is distinguished by a funky monochrome wave design on its casing.

Toshiba says the Frost White drive can store up to 130 computer games, 131,000 MP3 music files or 142,000 digital photos, ensuring there's plenty of room to keep your precious multimedia collection backed up. A USB 2.0 device, the drive can be plugged into a PC or games console and games or media read directly from it.

The device consumes only 1.9 Watts of power per hour and is whisper-quiet in operation so it doesn't interfere with the audio effects in the game you're playing.

Priced at £120, the Frosh White 500GB external hard drive is available from Toshiba's website now.
