Lexmark has unveiled the Genesis S815 web-connected inkjet printer with a difference – it features an unusual vertical design.
This means users of the Lexmark Genesis S815 can scan documents and images upright, instead of having to lay them flat as is the traditional method. Lexmark also says the design has a smaller footprint, meaning it takes up less space on a desk.
Furthermore, the device also benefits from Flash Scan Technology, which features a 10Mp Mono CMOS image sensor to ensure documents can be scanned to a PC within three seconds. The document being scanned can also be previewed on the printer's 4.3in colour capacitive touchscreen display.
The Lexmark Genesis S815 also allows users to print, copy and fax. It can be connected to a PC either by the bundled USB cable or via Wi-Fi. The device will also connect to the internet and offers users the ability to download any of Lexmark's Smartsolutions apps that are designed to increase productivity and efficiency and include offerings from TripIt and Evernote.
The Genesis printer also utilises Lexmark's patented print technology called Vizix, which means the printer features a semi-permanent printhead and separate ink cartridges that Lexmark says results in more efficient ink use and higher quality outputs.
The Lexmark Genesis S815 can print black document at a speed of up to 33 pages per minute (ppm) while colour documents can be printed at a speed of 30ppm.
"The Genesis S815 four-in-one is an eye-catching addition to the desktop. It is a truly inspirational product, which is both sleek and stylish. It is leading the way in terms of its technology and speed as well as its revolutionary style and design," said Steve Purdy, country general manager at Lexmark UK.
Lexmark's Genesis S815 is available now and is priced at £409.
