In what has been a year in which adding touchscreen capabilities to any sort of device seemed to be the norm, monitor specialist Iiyama is to introduce a range of ProLite touchscreen displays for medical and professional use.
The 15in ProLite T1530SR screen will cost £329 including VAT – a size and price Iiyama is pushing at the “budget-conscious consumer”.
Iiyama is hoping the robustness of the three-strong touchscreen range, as well as the popularity of the ‘five wire’ touchscreen technology it has chosen, will ensure the displays appeal to a broad range of users.
Iiyama explains: “Five wire resistive technology has proven to be the most popular because it delivers the accuracy, durability, and performance necessary in today’s environment. It is a popular choice as it can be operated while wearing gloves, essential for medical or industrial professions amongst other industries.
As well as the £329 entrylevel model, there will be 17in and 19in versions of the Iiyama ProLite touchscreen monitors.

The larger two screens (the ProLite T1730SR and ProLite 1930SR) have native resolutions of 1,280x1,024, while the 15in T1530SR model is a 1,024x768 panel. All three screens have contrast ratios of 800:1 and are both Mac and PC-compatible.
Analog and DVI connections are provided on all models.
