Gadget sites CuteBitz and Firebox have both announced that they will be stocking the Cideko Air Keyboard – a wireless keyboard with a built-in accelerometer. The keyboard is intended to be used with a range of gadgets from mini computers to TVs.

The Air Keyboard is around half the width of a standard PC keyboard and is intended to be a substitute for the too large wireless keyboards that often come with media centre PCs and the too small and fiddly multimedia remote controls that make file and video clip selection a pain to master. The keyboard will also come into its own when it comes to web navigation and tapping out emails, while its motion sensor will ensure its appeal as a gaming device.

The Cideko Air Keyboard works by pairing with a PC or Mac or other host via USB. Once the green status light flashes, the keyboard can be used as far away as 50 metres from the items it's controlling.

Available from early May, the Cideko Air Keyboard costs from £69.99.
