BenQ has launched a 24in LED-backlit monitor that consumes less energy than LCD displays.

By using the new display, which is mercury-free, BenQ claims PC users will save 44 percent more energy compared to the CCFL technology, which is used in the LCD monitors.

The BenQ V2410T measures 420x579x220mm also benefits from an Eco Mode, which the company claims will save even more energy.

Users can adjust the height of the display to suit their computer and desk set-up.

It has a resolution of 1080x1920 and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

You can also switch between other ratios without picture distortion using the 'Display mode' hot key located on the right side of the glossy black bezel.

The BenQ V2410T monitor is available now priced at £199 including VAT.
