Microsoft LifeCam HD 3000

Microsoft adds a widescreen model to its LifeCam webcam range

Microsoft has added a new model to its LifeCam webcam lineup, the Microsoft LifeCam HD 3000. With most laptops, TVs and tablets being widescreen these days, it makes sense that Microsoft’s latest video-conferencing camera is too.

The LifeCam HD has a 16:9 aspect ratio and is able to capture and display 720p video footage at 30 frames per second. It has its own noise-cancelling microphone to help overcome noisy office surroundings or the hubbub going on at home. It can be attached to a laptop, tablet or desktop PC and works with almost any instant messaging service including Windows Live Movie Maker for direct uploads to a video sharing site.

The Microsoft LifeCam HD 3000 costs £40 inc VAT.
