Acer U5200 3D projector

Acer has unveiled a short-throw projector that includes support for 3D. The Acer U5200 requires a projection distance of just 13cm in order to display an image 77in tall – a feat involving the use of a mirror.

The Acer U5200 projector is primed with DLP 3D Ready technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. Acer ColorBoost II+ technology helps to create natural and balanced shades and mimic lifelike tones.

A remote desktop function allows access to any PC connected to the projector via a LAN providing a keyboard and mouse are connected to the projector. The projector can also be connected directly to a PC and is able to show slideshows from a USB memory key inserted into its side.

An optional USB wireless adapter  lets users display presentations over a Wi-Fi network. MobiShow software can be used to hook up Wi-Fi enabled smartphones and project contenty from them.

The Acer U5200 3D projector will available from the beginning of March and will cost £1,125.
